Professor of Strategic Management and Leadership
Professor Richard Li-Hua, PhD, is currently President of CAMOT Academy Cambridge, UK. He is a renowned strategy scholar and the Founder of China Embracing Innovation theory, who is well-known globally for his research on China’s innovation and innovation strategy. He is also Director General (Convener) of Embracing Innovation Forum, UNNGO Peaceever TV.
He is Distinguished Visiting Professor of Strategic Management & Leadership, Penn State University, USA, Windsor University, Canada, Henley Business School, Reading University, UK and Sun Yatsun University, China. He was Visiting Scholar at Judge Business School, Cambridge University, UK and is Strategic Advisor at Research Center of Technology Innovation, Tsinghua University, China. He is also the Chairman of China Association for Management of Technology (CAMOT) founded in 2006 at Tsinghua University.
He is a transformational leader with resilience who managed SIAS International University, an Sino-American university in China and managed New Beacon Campus, a large and comprehensive campus in the UK with a strong leadership (2014-2020). He has a passion and strong commitment for global higher education with well-established leadership experiences in both public and private sectors of the global higher education in the UK, US and China.
Dr Roland is currently Founding Provost of Camot Academy Cambridge. Prior to this, he undertook a number senior academic leadership roles globally, including Chief Operation Officer (Principal) at the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), and the Managing Director at Kaplan Academy for Higher Education, Singapore. A passionate educator, he was instrumental in many successful collaborations between UK, USA, Singapore, China and Australian Universities, which have benefited thousands of students, who would not have had the opportunities for an international higher education.
Beside Education Management, Dr Roland is also an accomplished trainer/lecturer and has won several teaching excellences awards, including at Upper Iowa University and Informatics Academy. Dr Roland has been equally successful as an accomplished practitioner, he started his professional career as an Industrial Engineer with Philips Communication based in Sydney, Australia. After more than 10 years in the manufacturing industry in Australia, Roland has been focusing on International Business Development in APAC and EMA starting with an Electronic OEM Manufacturing Company based in Hong Kong and China from 1993 to 1997.
Since 1997 he has been in the Education, Training, and Consulting business. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). His current expertise is in International Business Development in the private education industry in Asia Pacific. Dr Roland is also a strong advocate of the Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) - all about Value Innovation and exploring and creating uncontested and untapped markets. He is an experienced and focused, value-adding leader who has weathered several financial and economic downturns in the APAC region. He has acquired the ability to adapt his skillset and experience to various settings in order to achieve the desired outcomes. Colleagues also know him as a dependable and reliable leader with the ability to influence and shift the cultural mix within an organization in order to achieve optimum results in the longer term.
Successful track records with continuous achievements of high Operating Incomes have proven that he is a brave decision-maker, acting with Imagination, Integrity, and Decency - staying focused on the lead objectives as well as having an eye for the details. He obtained his BEng (Hons) from the University of New South Wales (Australia), MBA from Murdoch University (Australia), DBA from Brittany Universite, France and has a PhD from University of Melbourne.
Chief Innovation Officer
Dr Tom Feng is currently Chief Innovation Officer at Camot Academy Cambridge. He earned his PhD in computing and engineering in 2017 at University of Cambridge, St Edmunds College, with Research Topic: Robust Wireless Sensor Network for Civil Infrastructure Monitoring. Tom has profound knowledge and understanding on how technology and innovation contribute the technology enhanced learning and blended learning in the global higher education, and the digitalization, design, development and operation of the O2O innovation university underpinned by a new technology innovation system. This system integrates digitalization, the online and offline delivery technology with teaching and learning pedagogy, university management system, recruitment system, university vision and mission, global and local engagement, with 3D, VR/AR, VC., etc.
Tom got his MPhil Degree in 2013 at Darwin College, University of Cambridge, in nuclear energy subjects, majoring Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Material, Thermo Hydraulics, Nuclear Policy. Tom earned his BA (Honors) in Electrical and electronic engineering,undergrad Subjects: Analogue and Digital Electronics Design, Mathematical Methods, Power System and Power Electronics, Control Systems, Communications, in 2012, in Cardiff University.
He is also Vice President in Innovation and Entrepreneur Club (CUIETC), University of Cambridge. Co-Founder of UbiSense, Director of Ministry of Entrepreneurship in Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), Student Representative in MPhil in Nuclear Energy, University of Cambridge, Student Representative in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Cardiff University, Lead Guitarist of a Rock Band in Cardiff.
